How can Civil3D pipe network data be exchanged? Problem number:31617 Solution Civil3D integration works just like plain vanilla AutoCAD integration. When opening the Haestad product "...for AutoCAD Civil3D" shortcut, you will be able to utilize the AutoCAD user interface and drawing tools with your Haestad product. Civil3D-specific tools such as profiling with pipe networks would need to rely on data exchange via the standard LandXML format per the below. Note : Civil3D tools tends to be more meaningful in a storm or sewer context, so LandXML data exchange is not currently available in WaterGEMS, WaterCAD or HAMMER. You can however export a water model to ESRI Shapefile format , which can be consumed by Civil3D. You could also export the water model to i-model format and view it in 3D in a Bentley application like MicroStation. Opening a Civil3D Pipe Network in the Haestad Product 1) From Civil3D, export the pipe network to LandXML format 2) In the Haestad product, Choose File > Import > LandXML, then select the file If any change is made in the Haestad product, you will need to re-export to LandXML in order for Civil3D to pick up on the change. From the File menu, chose Export > LandXML Opening a Haestad model in Civil3D 1) From the Haestad product, choose File > Export > LandXML, then select the location and name, 2) In Civil3D, import the LandXML file. If any change is made in Civil3D, you will need to re-export to LandXML file and import it back into the Haestad product. Note that the LandXML file only contains information supported by the LandXML format, so some Haestad model data may be lost.
