I have designed a distribution network in WaterGEMS V8i for which pipe and junction data was imported from a .dxf file. During the import, the junctions (and pipes) were named randomly, where J-2 does not follow J-1. From the point of view of 'designing', this does not matter. But for execution and record-keeping on site, it is desired that J-1 be the first junction of the network just after Reservoir, J-2 be the next junction on line and so on. I understand that while importing data from .dxf, there is no way for WaterGEMS to know how to name the junctions, and thus it names them randomly. However, after the design is complete, WaterGEMS generates additional data - 'flow direction'. So how do I use these flow arrows to rename the junctions and pipes, so that J-1 is first junction after Reservoir and there is at least some order in the naming of remaining junctions? Of course, I am interested in an auto-assign method to avoid manually naming hundreds of junctions.
