Forum Post: Hammer - Check Valve Characteristics - Reverse Velocity vs Deceleration

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could offer an advice regarding modeling a check valve. I am modeling a water supply system with pumps transporting flow from the balance tank to the reservoir. When I model a pump trip scenario, the minimum pressure drops to vacuum. A valve supplier suggested using Val-Matic Silent Check Valve operating as follows: - When flow occurs, the disc is lifted off the seat to allow forward flow. - When pump is stopped, the spring is in the valve forces the disc closed before the flow reverses, providing silent closure. I have a Dynamic Characteristics of Valve Curve – Reverse Velocity vs. Deceleration. Is there an option in Bentley Hammer to enter this characteristics data? Or how would be the best to model this valve? Thank you, Marketa
