Ref: http://communities.bentley.com/products/hydraulics___hydrology/f/5925/t/112433 Hello Dr. Tom, I can self-explain about the approach to calculate "time travel" and "volume minimum" of such Pipe run. Could you help me explain what else model based on to calculate these numbers? As i know, model create automatically a new flushing scenario, but i can't see any different from original hydrant status and flow of system. In a undirectional event, i flush three hydrants simultaneously, the flow is sum together;therefore, i don't no flow of each hydrant. Is it possible to know this numbers?

Jesse, I was looking at the max HGL when I made my reference to how the system is behaving. I have uploaded the file per your direction. We have been looking at it internally and while intuition says that the model isn't behaving correctly, we haven't been able to find where the problem is. If you could take a look at the model and see if there is anything out of line, that would be very helpful. Thanks, James E.

Yes, although there are some possible workarounds you can use (see article in my previous post), we will consider the ability to import unit loads in a future release (reference # 327974)

Hello Kailainathan Nadesu, This posting is in the wrong location. Please see the correct procedure below: a. Please go to the main home page " communities.bentley.com " b. Choose the first drop down listing under"The Place For Bentley Product Support", and Choose "Hammer". c. This will automatically take you to the correct Bentley Communities page at: communities.bentley.com/.../hydraulics___hydrology d. Once here, choose the Forum page and post your message. Can anyone provide a description of how to open pondpack within microstation? I've opened an existing dgn with the PondPack v8i for MicroStation v8i (SELECTseries 3) shortcut I do not see any pondpack tools. I can't find any description on how to use this option on the Bentley learn server. If it is there and I'm just not looking in the right place, please let me know where to find the documentation. Thanks!

Hello everyone, I´m using Hammer Bentley v8i and I can´t get the discharge pressure on the system, I´m trying to simulate a positive displacement pump, and I should have a discharge pressure of 1100 psi and the program estimated 869 psi, instead. What kind of variable can I modify to adjust the discharge pressure according to the required value? Best Regards,

After generating a profile, if any element is added along that stretch the profile is not available in the "Transient Results Viewer" after running the Transient analysis (where we review the vapour volume, Hydraulic Grade etc.) Please do help on this.

You will need to edit the profile. Go to View > Profiles. If you right-click on the profile that you are using and then select "Edit", it will prompt you with a dialog box stating, "Some elements reference by this profile no longer exist( likely due to a delete, link split-up or morph operation). Would you like to auto-repair the profile, so that you can continue to use it?" Answer yes to the prompt.

Solution 1) Create a selection set of the elements that you want to filter based on 2) Make sure the selection set of elements is selected in the drawing pane. You can select those element by going to 'View > Selection Sets' and double clicking on the selection set name. The elements in that selection set will highlight in red in your drawing pane by default unless you have changed the default selection set color. 3) With the elements selected go to 'View > Flextables' to open the flextable manager. Locate the element table you want to create a report for and right click on it then choose "Open On Selection". This will open the flextable based on your selection in the drawing. 4) If necessary use the edit icon at the top of the flextable to edit your columns so that you have all the information you need to report on. How can I add or remove columns from my flextable? Solution First, use the yellow edit button at the top of the flextable to choose which fields you'd like to be displayed in the flextable. Omit unnecessary fields. Next, you can customize the field names by right-clicking each column header and choosing "Edit column label". Also, you can click and drag the separator between each column header to change the column width. To customize the appearance of the print preview further, you can modify the header/footer and margin sizes under Report > Report Options. If the appearance of the flextable report is still unsatisfactory, you have two options. First, you could copy the entire flextable to clipboard by clicking the gray cell at the top left corner and then click the copy button. You can then paste in an external application such as Microsoft Excel and format/print from there. The other option, which is available in versions 08.11.01.xx and greater, is XML reporting. In the flextable, when clicking the report button, choose "Report in XML". You can then apply a custom style sheet and thus have better control over the flextable printout.

Wiki Page: Pumps are operating at a much higher rate than the design point.

Applies To Product(s): Bentley WaterGEMS, Bentley HAMMER, Bentley WaterCAD Version(s): 08.11.XX.XX Environment: N/A Area: Original Author: Mark Pachlhofer, Bentley Technical Support Group Problem My pumps are operating at a much higher rate than the design point. How do I fix this? Solution The first step to solving this problem starts with understanding how pumps function in the hydraulics and hydrology products. You can find that explanation in this wiki . The second step is to check the pump curves for the pumps that are adding too much flow and make sure the curves are correct. The next step is to check the demands in your model for the junctions, hydrants, tanks, and the HGL on your reservoirs that are downstream of the pump. The best way to check your demands on downstream elements is to make a selection set of all those nodes and then open your flextable based on that selection set. There are directions in the wiki found here that explain how to do this. With the flextable open add the column called "Demand" if it's not already. This wiki article will explain how to do that. Once that column is added you can right click on the column header and choose statistics to see the total sum of the demand and other important information. At this point you can also sort that column by right clicking on it and choosing Sort > Descending because you are likely looking for values in the column that are to high. After doing this you should scan all the demand to make sure they are correct. Note that for the reservoir there is no "demand" column. You should be checking the hydraulic grade in reservoirs to make sure that it is set correctly. Finally, if you are checking the demands for an EPS simulation you should use the time browser to choose the time step where the pumps are operating higher than the design point and then use the steps above to check the appropriate tables for the demands.

Adane, I'm still looking into this one. The model is somewhat large and with all the interconnected ponds it's kind of challenging to locate a problem. I'll keep you updated as I make progress on this. Regards, Mark

Adane, In my previous post I forgot to mention a things that I noticed. It appears that you're using version 08.11.01.51 of PondPack. The latest version is 08.11.01.56 and has some updates to it that might be crucial for getting this model to compute correctly. Here are some instructions for how you can download the latest version of PondPack. Make sure you download and install the latest patch set with that too. communities.bentley.com/.../8175.how-do-i-download-the-water-and-storm-sewer-hydraulics-and-hydrology-products I also wanted to point out that the "reverse flow conditions encountered for one or more headwater elevation" is purely an information message and it's not something that you need to be concerned about. It's just there to let you know that you have some reverse flow occurring in some of your outlet structures. I'm still looking to see if I can find anything else in your model that needs to be addressed. Regards, Mark
