Background There are two similarly named products, "HEC-1" and "Graphical HEC-1".  The incompatiblity with Windows 7 64-bit is only with "Graphical HEC-1", which is a graphical user interface on top of HEC-1, developed by Haestad Methods. Graphical HEC-1 is still included with our HEC-Pack product, but it is quite old and outdated.  The reason why we have not updated operating system support for it is because the US Army Corps of Engineers stopped working on HEC-1 in 1998 and now consider it a "Legacy" product.  Instead of working on it, they are maintaining HEC-HMS, which supersedes HEC-1.  Our recommendation is to make the switch to HEC-HMS, which is supported in Windows 7 64-bit. "HEC-1" is a DOS-based application, which can be made to run on Windows 7.  Two options are mentioned in the below forum post:   http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=286094 Solution Option 1 Unfortunately Graphical HEC-1 does not support the 64-bit version of Windows 7.  You will need to install it on a 32-bit operating system, or consider using another similar modeling package such as HEC-HMS or Bentley PondPack, which supports Windows 7 64-bit. Option 2 Use the "XP Mode" feature in Windows 7.
