For example the existing structures on a highway are located in the median and collect flows from both sides of the highway. The median has a concrete barrier which separates flows from either side. Therefore, rather than putting in 2 structures, there is one big structure that has a grate inlet on both sides of the median barrier. Solution A typical approach would be to use a small connector pipe between two catchbasin nodes. If a large enough size is selected for this pipe, so as not to cause a backup, there should be no adverse affects. If you are worried about extra entrance loss in the fictitious pipe, you can set the structure loss method to Absolute with a headloss of zero, or set it to the Standard method with the coefficient set to zero.
